What Does It Means To Be Born Again?
- To be born again is not just joining a church, growing up in church or being baptized. It is to recognise your need for repentance from sin, asking for forgiveness and accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. Living for Jesus onwards.
- It is being born in the spirit. You receive the Holy Spirit into your spirit. You receive the Zoe Life. (2 Corinthians 5:17; 1 Corinthians. 15:44 – 45; John 3:5-6)
- It is the grace of God (unmerited favour) to us. Our personal righteousness is like dirty clothes before God. (Isaiah 64:6) Christ paid the price and we receive this gift by faith. (Ephesians 2:8 – 9, Galatians 4:6 – 7).
Benefits of Being Born Again:
- Total restoration of life. (John 10:10b)
- Freedom from the power and hold of sin. (Colossians 1:13-14, Galatians 5:1)
- No more condemnation. (Romans 8:1)
- Joint Heir of Salvation and authority. (John 1:12, Luke 10:19, Mark 16:18)
- We enter in covenant with God and access His Divine Possibilities. (2 Peter 1:3, 1 Corinthians. 3:21)
- Placed above all the wicked forces of the devil world. (1 John5:4 – 19)
How to Sustain Your Salvation?
- Live for God and walk in the spirit. (Matthew 5:6, Galatians 5:16)
- Maintain righteousness. Don’t allow sin. (Hosea 10:12, Romans 12:1)
- Pray always and study the Word of God daily. (1Thessalonians 5:13, Mathew 4:4)
- Keep good company. (Corinthians 15:33, Proverbs 13:20)
