What is the Holy Ghost Baptism?
- It is the initial experience of the infilling of The Holy Spirit characterised by speaking in tongues. (Acts 2:4).
- It is the infilling with the power of God. (Acts 1:8)
- It is a sign that must follow all believers. (Mark 16:17)
Why Must I Be Baptised?
- To empower you for effective witnessing. (Acts 1:8).
- It is the foundation for the manifestation of the fullness of the power of The Holy Spirit. (Acts 4:31-33, 9:17-18, 10:38)
- It is for communication with The Father. (John 4:24, 1 Corinthians 14:2).
- It is for victorious Christian living. (Romans 8:11)
- Builds up faith in us (Jude 20), i.e. it is given to reveal and make real He who dwells in us all.
- For effective prayer life. (Romans 8:26-27).
How Can I Be Baptised?
- You must be born again. (Acts 2:37-39, John 3:5)
- Be desirous, be thirsty for Him. (John 7:37, Proverbs 10:24)
- Believe that the baptism of The Holy Ghost is for you. (Acts 2:38-39)
- Recognise that Jesus is the baptiser. (Matthew 3:11 – 14).
- Trust Him to keep His Word. (John 7:38)
- Ask Him for the baptism. (Luke 11:13, Matthew 7:7)
- Open your mouth and speak what The Spirit prompts you to speak. (Acts 10:44-46, 2:4)
