THE NECCESSITY OF THE WORD OF GOD
The Word of God is the foundation for a Christian that will live a victorious life (Psalm 11:3). The strength of any lasting building lies in the foundation it’s built upon. The Word is the foundation for every Christian that will mature, abide in Christ and be successful in life and for the Kingdom of God. It is our source, strength and way of life.
The bible is God’s manual for our victorious life. (Hebrews 1:3, Hebrews 11:3).
Why Do We Need to Study The Word?
- It is the source of faith. (Romans 10:17). Faith is a necessary spiritual force for every believer.
- It reveals the principles and personality of Jesus for our triumphant living. (John 5:39)
- It builds us up. (Acts 20:32)
- It makes us wise. (2 Timothy 3:15)
- It produces profit. (1 Timothy 4:15)
Why Must We Pray?
- To obtain help from God (Hebrews 4:16, Acts 26:22, 2 Corinthians 26:1,5,7, Psalm 59:9)
- To obtain mercy. (Hebrews 4:16, Psalm 3:5)
- To obtain angelic intervention. (Acts12:5, Matthew 26:52-53)
- To obtain deliverance from affliction. (Psalm 18:28)
- To keep ourselves concentrated i.e. to live a Holy life. (Matthew 6:13, Zechariah.3: 1-3)
- To obtain deliverance from temptation and evil. (Ephesians 6:18, Matthew 6:13)
What is Prayer?
- Prayer is a two-way communication with God. (Isaiah 1:18, Jeremiah 33:3)
- Prayer is the practise of asking and receiving from God. (Matthews 7:7, Jeremiah 29:11-12, Psalm 65:2)
It is asking God to intervene in your situation based on His Word. (2 Corinthians 20: 1-6)
